Backpack pattern application

All-over print backpack showing a custom floral pattern in a purple, magenta, and blue palette, with the brand mark carried on the front pocket. Pattern design that reads as a brand extension rather than surface decoration.

The design brief was a pattern that would translate from a flat swatch onto a curved product surface without breaking the visual system. That meant designing at the tile level with strong vertical symmetry and a repeat rhythm that reads as one continuous garden when the fabric wraps and folds, not a grid of separated motifs.

Pattern architecture

The tile was designed with vertical symmetry so the repeat lines up across the seam where the backpack panels join. Motifs were staggered so the eye never lands on a hard boundary. What reads as a lush garden is actually a small tile stepping across the surface with intent.

Palette decision

Deep navy ground with saturated magenta, purple, and cobalt florals, plus soft pink accents. The palette pulls warm on the flowers and cool on the leaves so the pattern has depth on camera and does not flatten under studio light.

Brand mark placement

The mark sits on a saturated pink front pocket as a solid color break inside the busy pattern. This gives the eye a place to land and turns the pocket into the brand carrier, so the pattern can stay maximalist without losing recognition.

Production notes

Designed for sublimation print on woven polyester. The pattern was built at full bleed with a resolution allowance for the curved surface. Straps use a subtle dot texture as a quiet counterpoint to the pattern's density.
