Shipgistix shipping label design
Shipping label design for Shipgistix (the third party logistics partner behind Inkgility fulfillment). Dense tabular grid that carries every operational field a warehouse and carrier scan need, without abandoning the design discipline that keeps the piece recognizable from a receiving line up.
Shipping labels are usually treated as a printer default rather than a design brief. Someone tapes a stock USPS or FedEx label to a box and the last brand touch point of the shipment is a data grid nobody chose. This piece treats the label itself as an owned brand surface. Every operational field (from address, to address, tracking barcode, QR, weight, dimension, product line items, handling icons) is present at the right prominence for the receiving hand, and the whole grid reads as a designed piece rather than an assembly line output.
Information architecture
Six zone grid: logo and order header, from and to addresses, tracking spine with INKGILITY vertical stack, QR and weight, product line items, handling icons. Zones sized so the warehouse eye can scan each field in isolation without visual noise from the others.
Typography
Monospace slab for the data fields so number columns align cleanly and the label reads as operational rather than decorative. Weight callout at extra large scale (15.30 kg) so the driver can carry the box correctly without reading the whole label.
Scan reliability
QR code and barcode both sized above production minimum thresholds for reliable scanning across common warehouse hardware. QR contains the tracking URL, barcode contains the internal Shipgistix order reference. Redundant to survive one scanner rejection without stopping the flow.
Production notes
Designed for 4x6 direct thermal print on standard shipping label stock. Black plus safety orange spot color, sized for thermal print head resolution to hold sharp at throughput speed. The design holds when scaled up to 6x8 pallet labels without redraw.
